Olympique de Marseille have announced that Former France national team coach Corinne Diacre has been appointed as manager Marseille’s women women side, now known as Les Marseillaises. The 50-year-old has been without a post since her dismissal from Les Bleues in March 2023, but she had made clear in recent months that she was eager to return to club football.“Joining Olympique de Marseille is a source of great pride. It is a club whose identity, passion and ambition resonate fully with my career and my approach to football,” said Diacre in a statement published by the club. “The arrival of Corinne Diacre marks an important step in the development of Les Marseillaises. Her unique career, her high standards and her experience at the highest level are perfectly in line with our ambitions for our project,” said director of the Marseillaises project Stefano Petruzzo.OM Féminin were recently rebranded as Les Marseillaises this season, following suit to Lyon to distinguish the women’s team from the men’s in branding and marketing.Diacre’s tenure with France was mixed: she led the team through two major tournaments, including the 2022 European Championship, but faced criticism for inconsistent results and internal tensions.
