Gelson Martins (28) has completed his move from AS Monaco to Greek side Olympiacos. The Portuguese winger had not featured for Les Monégasques this season after coming to an agreement with the Principality club that a departure would be facilitated.
Whilst a move did not take form in the summer, despite reported interest from the Middle East, Martins has now left Monaco. According to Foot Mercato, and confirmed by Get French Football News, Monaco will receive €3m for the player, who joined the club from Atletico Madrid back in 2019.
The Portuguese international played for Monaco on 129 occasions and was involved in 30 goals in that time. However, he fell out of favour in the back half of last season and went from being used sparingly by Philippe Clement, to falling out of the first-team picture entirely by the end of the season. The club then made the decision in the summer that Martins would be allowed to leave, and with just six months remaining on his deal, that move has now taken place.
