Gessime Yassine (20) has completed a move to RC Strasbourg Alsace from Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque. The Morocco youth international has signed a deal that runs until the summer of 2030. The fee has not been disclosed.
Competition for the Morocco youth international had been intense. With three goals and eight assists this season, Yassine has been heavily coveted. AS Monaco were keen on signing the forward, whilst Lille OSC also made a late play. AS Saint-Étienne were also in the race, and whilst they had the means to pull off the deal, despite being in Ligue 2, they couldn’t offer the player Ligue 1 football in the immediate future.
Not only could Strasbourg offer Ligue 1 football, they could also offer European football, with the club through to the knockout rounds of the UEFA Europa Conference League. His arrival was confirmed on Saturday evening, and so the player is eligible to make his debut in the Derby de l’Ést, against FC Metz, on Sunday.
