Santi Giménez will hope to get his career back on track in Portugal.
The Mexican striker joined Milan in January 2025 for €35m including bonuses from PSV and struggled a great deal in Italy, failing to score a single league goal in the past season.
With Gonçalo Ramos and Francesco Camarda ahead of him, there was no space for Santi in the squad of Rúben Amorim, and after weeks of talks, Giménez finds himself in a new club.
“Milan can confirm that Santiago Gimenez has joined FC Porto on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent – an option that will become an obligation upon the fulfillment of specific conditions. The loan runs until 30 June 2027,” a statement reads. “The Club would like to thank Santi for the professionalism and dedication that he has shown and wish him all the best for the upcoming season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the option to buy is for €20m + €2m in bonuses, with the option turning obligatory if Porto qualify for the Champions League and Santi scoring a specific number of goals.
