La Liga 2 outfit Granada have on Tuesday announced a fresh addition to the club’s goalkeeper ranks.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms at Los Cármenes? Diego Mariño.
Shot-stopper Mariño, for his part, remained available as a free agent throughout the summer transfer window, following the expiration of his contract terms with Almería.
Amid mounting concerns regarding the situation between the posts at the aforementioned Granada, owing to a combination of Luca Zidane’s injury woes and Marc Martínez’s form, the Nazaríes, in turn, recently opened talks with Mariño and his entourage.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, such discussions have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across the official website and social media platforms of Granada, Mariño has put pen to paper on a short-term deal with the club:
‘Granada Club de Fútbol and goalkeeper Diego Mariño have reached an agreement for the Vigo native to become a new red-and-white player.’
