Official: Guido signs Valencia deal until 2028 with option

Valencia have secured Argentine midfielder Guido Rodríguez on a new contract until 2028, with an optional extra year, bringing a drawn-out saga to a close.

According to AS, after ups and downs in negotiations an agreement had been an open secret, and it has now been signed.

The 32-year-old arrived in the winter window after freeing himself from his West Ham contract, initially signing only until 30 June to review his future once the season ended.

He quickly became a key figure in Carlos Corberán’s midfield, featuring in 16 matches and scoring four goals for Valencia.

Retaining Rodríguez topped the club’s list to reinforce the midfield, while alternatives were explored as they awaited his response. He has opted to remain at Mestalla in what could prove the last major contract of his career.
