RCS Anderlecht officially announced on Thursday the signing of Léo Pétrot (29) from Elche CF. A product of the AS Saint-Étienne youth academy, the centre-back has signed a two-year contract, running until 2028, with Les Mauves et Blancs.
Having previously played for Andrézieux-Bouthéon and FC Lorient, where he made 23 appearances during the 2021–22 season, Pétrot returned to his former youth club in the summer of 2022, before establishing himself as a regular starter in defence.
With 99 appearances for Les Verts to his name, the Firminy-born player played a pivotal role in ASSE’s return to the top flight of French football, featuring in 38 matches during the 2023–24 season and notably scoring a crucial goal against FC Metz in the Ligue 1/Ligue 2 play-offs.
After moving to Elche last summer, he started in 21 of the 36 matches he played across all competitions, helping the Castilian club secure their place in La Liga following an intense battle with their rivals.
