It’s been a busy deadline day for RB Leipzig with four big moves at the Saxony club. Eljif Elmas returned to Napoli on loan with a reported €16.5m purchase option and Lutsharel Geertruida switched to Sunderland on loan with a €20m purchase option. Working on signing Conrad Harder all day, Leipzig confirmed the €24m purchase which allowed Loïs Openda to leave for Juventus on loan with an option to buy – which was made official late on Monday night.
The Bianconeri have paid RB Leipzig a reported €3m to sign Openda on loan, which includes a reported purchase option of €40m. It brings an end to the Belgian’s stay in Germany, which resulted in 41 goals and 18 assists across all competitions for Leipzig.
With Benjamin Sesko, Xavi Simons and Openda now all departed, Leipzig’s new look attack consists of Harder and Rômulo, the latter of which has already opened his account for his new club with a goal in RB Leipzig’s 2-0 win against Heidenheim at the weekend.
