RC Lens have officially announced the signing of Yacine Titraoui (23) from Royal Charleroi SC. The Algerian international becomes the latest player to join Dino Töpmoller’s new-look Les Sang et Or, coming in as the replacement for Mamadou Sangaré (24), who left to join Brentford FC in a record transfer.

Titraoui made 42 appearances across all competitions last season for the Belgian side, and even scored five and assisted three. It was enough for him to be included in Algeria’s World Cup squad, although he didn’t feature in any of their games.

He had been the focus of several clubs across Europe, with teams in England keen to purchase a player who’s considered to have a bright future ahead of him. One of those clubs that were reported to have an interest were newly promoted Premier League side Hull City. However, at Lens, Titraoui will have a chance to demonstrate his abilities in the UEFA Champions League.
