Racing Club de Lens have signed Inter Milan centre-forward Martín Satriano (23) on loan with an option to buy, both clubs have announced. The Uruguayan is no stranger to Ligue 1 football considering he spent the two previous campaigns on loan at Stade Brestois. Eric Roy’s Pirates were keen on retaining the services of the 23-year-old striker, but Lens fended off competition from Brest. In the wake of Faris Moumbagna’s ACL injury, Olympique de Marseille were reportedly in the race to sign Satriano on loan, but Les Phocéens eventually dropped their interest.
Satriano was expected to be loaned out again considering the heightened competition upfront at Inter with Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and Mehdi Taremi. Lens were in the market for a centre-forward in the wake of Elye Wahi’s sale to Ligue 1 rivals Marseille. Satriano will wear Wahi’s former #9 jersey with the Artois side. Lens will host Satriano’s former club, Brest, this Sunday for Ligue 1’s second matchday. The Uruguay international logged ten goals and four assists in two seasons for Les Ty-Zefs.
