RC Lens have signed France international centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo (26) on loan from EFL Championship West Ham United, both clubs have announced. The 26-year-old was initially expected to join Marseille, but Les Phocéens‘ financial troubles prevented them from securing his signing. OM are expected to complete this summer’s transfer window without making a single signing, unlike Lens. Todibo is the Artois side’s eighth signing this summer. He’ll wear the No. 20 jersey for Les Sang et Or.

It has been expected that Todibo would leave West Ham this summer, following the club’s relegation to the EFL Championship. Aston Villa have shown interest in the France international. Instead, Todibo will head to Lens, where he will have the chance to compete in the UEFA Champions League. The Frenchman has made a financial effort in order to complete the loan move, which does not include a buy option. Todibo could make his Lens debut on Saturday against FC Lorient.
