After featuring for the French youth teams, Luca Zidane, the son of the legendary Zinedine Zidane, has now switched his sporting nationality. From now on, he will wear the colors of Algeria's Fennecs.

It's worth noting that Luca Zidane has spent his entire career in Spain, coming up through Real Madrid's youth ranks (2014-2019), then playing for Racing Santander, Rayo Vallecano, Eibar, and, since July 2024, Granada. Internationally, he has represented all levels of France's youth teams: 3 caps with the U16s, 14 with the U17s, 6 with the U18s, 6 with the U19s, and 1 with the U20s in 2018.

Never having been called up by Didier Deschamps to join France's senior goalkeeping rotation, Luca Zidane has logically decided to try his luck for his father's homeland. Will Vladimir Petkovic call him up for the matches against Somalia (October 9) and Uganda (October 14)?
