Olympique Lyonnais have confirmed the signing of Tyler Morton (22) from Liverpool, via their official social media channels. The England U21 international joins Lyon for a fee in the region of €15m, including add-ons. The Premier League champions will also have a 10% sell-on clause in any future sale.

Morton has signed a 5-year deal at the Groupama Stadium that will keep him at the Rhône club until 2027. The midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield this summer after failing to make a senior appearance for the Reds in the Premier League during their title-winning campaign last season.

Despite limited opportunities at the Merseyside outfit, the Englishman arrives with plenty of professional experience. Morton enjoyed two successful loan spells in the EFL Championship with Hull City and Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder was a part of the Liverpool side that completed the domestic cup double in 2022.
