New England Revolution have signed Nantes striker Ignatius Ganago (25) on a six-month loan, both clubs have announced. The 25-year-old Cameroon international has recorded only six goals and five assists in 57 games for Les Canaris. Ganago’s three seasons with the Ligue 1 were largely hampered by injuries. Ganago signed for Nantes from Lens over a €4m deal in 2022. He notably scored Nantes’ final and most crucial goal of the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 season, ensuring their safety. Ganago was tied with Nantes over a contract set to expire in 2027.
“Ignatius Ganago is a very talented attacker who, at only 25 years old, has extensive experience playing in one of the top leagues in the world. He is an explosive player with pace, power, and individual game-changing ability,” New England Revolution head coach Caleb Porter said. Ganago’s move to the MLS franchise includes an option to make his move permanent. The striker’s loan will be extended by six months if certain playing-time conditions are met.
