Olympique Lyonnais have announced the signing of Roman Yaremchuk on a season-long loan, running until 30 June 2026, with the deal including a €5m option to buy. The loan fee is reported to be €1.5m.
The 29-year-old striker arrives in Lyon with significant top-level experience, having played over 400 professional matches across Europe. Standing at 1.91m, Yaremchuk is expected to bring a physical presence and proven goalscoring record to an OL side preparing for a demanding run across three competitions.Born in Lviv in 1995, Yaremchuk began his professional career at Dynamo Kyiv before enjoying his most prolific spell at KAA Gent between 2017 and 2021, scoring 61 goals in 152 appearances.
Subsequent spells followed at Benfica and Club Brugge, before a loan stint at Valencia CF. He joined Olympiakos in 2024, where he completed a domestic treble, winning the league, cup and super cup.“I’m really very happy to be here and to see Clinton again, who I played with at Bruges. I also know Paulo Fonseca well,” said the Ukrainian international in a club communiqué. “The atmosphere at the Groupama Stadium really struck me and I can’t wait to play in front of the supporters.”GFFN | George Boxall
