Official – PSG give update on Doué and Nuno Mendes

Désiré Doué, the 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder/forward, had to come off injured during the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final. The same went for Nuno Mendes (the 23-year-old left-back). This Wednesday, PSG released an official statement regarding both players.

“– After suffering a knock to his right knee during the match against Liverpool, Désiré Doué will remain under treatment for the next two days before returning to full team training. – ⁠Nuno Mendes is dealing with slight discomfort in his right thigh. He will undergo treatment and work indoors over the next two days.”

These are very positive updates after the initial concerns. There is now hope that both players will return very quickly, without taking any risks. It could take a little longer for Mendes, who will probably miss Sunday’s home game against Olympique Lyonnais, which closes out Matchday 30 of Ligue 1. As for Désiré Doué, he could be available, depending on how he feels when training resumes on Saturday.
