La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Tuesday evening announced the permanent departure of an up-and-coming member of the club’s midfield ranks. This comes amid confirmation of Manuel Ángel having taken his talents to England, to link up with Fulham.
Real Madrid and Fulham have of course spent much of the summer locked in talks over a series of potential transfers. After Álvaro Arbeloa swapped Spain’s capital for its English equivalent, the tactician quickly set his sights on reunions with several Blancos talents.
As much culminated in both Gonzalo García and César Palacios making the move to Craven Cottage earlier this month.
And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, just hours out from the transfer deadline, the two young Spaniards have been followed to the Premier League by yet another compatriot.
As per a statement across Real Madrid’s official website and social media platforms:
‘Real Madrid CF and Fulham FC have agreed to the transfer of our player Manuel Ángel.
‘Real Madrid will always be his home and thanks Manuel Ángel for his commitment during all these years that he has belonged to our club. Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage of his life.’
Ángel, a 22-year-old midfielder, is understood to have put pen to paper on terms with Fulham through the summer of 2029.
