Official: Real Madrid announce fresh injury blow | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Tuesday announced a fresh setback on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that Ferland Mendy is facing up to another incoming spell on the sidelines.

Defender Mendy is for his part fresh off taking to the pitch for the first time all season last week, when he featured from the off in Real Madrid’s Champions League victory over Olympiacos.

As much came after the latest fitness problem of what have been an injury-plagued last couple of years for the Frenchman in Spain’s capital.

Safe to say, then, that it will have come as a blow for club and player alike to learn of Mendy, early this week, picking up a new issue.

As per a statement across Los Blancos’ website and social media platforms on Tuesday:

‘Following tests carried out today on our player Ferland Mendy by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his right leg. His recovery will be monitored.’
