Official: Real Madrid name Player of the Season | OneFootball

The winner of the Player of the Season prize at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week been made official.

The Blancos star to have beaten out the competition to the accolade for the 2025/26 campaign? Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé is of course fresh off something of a tumultuous close to the term in Spain’s capital, culminating in widespread criticism across the media and the Real faithful alike.

As proved the case in the former Paris Saint-Germain standout’s debut year at the Bernabéu, though, the numbers frankly speak for themselves.

Despite the collective struggles of Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa alike, Mbappé continued to produce at nothing short of an elite rate in front of goal.

All told, across 44 appearances in all competitions this past season, the 27-year-old racked up 42 goals and seven assists.

And as alluded to above, such exploits have this week proven enough to see Mbappé beat the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Thibaut Courtois to the Player of the Season award in Madrid.
