Official: Real Madrid name squad to face Atlético | OneFootball

The squad of players called upon by Real Madrid for their upcoming showdown with city rivals Atlético has been unveiled online. And it features, in positive news for Los Blancos, minimal absentees.

This season’s first edition of the Madrid Derby is of course primed to play out on Sunday evening.

The matchup will see Real Madrid make the trip to the Metropolitano, desperate for all three points amid ongoing efforts to keep pace with Hansi Flick’s rampant Barcelona.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of José Mourinho and co. calling upon a strong panel of players for the derby.

The only high-profile omissions from Real’s travelling squad come in the form of long-term injury absentees Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, and Éder Militão.

This means that more recent injury concerns Raúl Asencio, Thiago Pitarch and Aurélien Tchouaméni are all called up, with Los Merengues’ squad to face Atlético showcased in full below:
