Real Madrid are already on their way to Kazakhstan as they get set to take on Kairat Almaty in the second matchday of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.

The game is scheduled to be played on Tuesday evening at the Ortalyq Stadion, with Los Blancos embarking on a long and arduous journey to Almaty.

Now, Xabi Alonso has announced the squad list of players he will have available for the game next week, with as many as five notable absences being confirmed.

One of those happens to be key defender Eder Militao, who has not travelled with the rest of the squad, after suffering a knock against Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

The Brazilian has not suffered an ankle injury but has a bruise which will need 2-3 days to heal fully. As such, he has not joined the rest of the group.

Dani Carvajal also misses out after suffering a calf injury last evening against Atleti, although he would have been unavailable for selection anyway, after his red card vs Marseille.

Antonio Rudiger, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Ferland Mendy are the other three absentees.

Young goalkeeper Javi Navarro has been called up by Alonso, while right-back David Jimenez also features, given the lack of options in the position.
