Matchday 5 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League has now come and gone, and Real Madrid find themselves placed fifth in the table, thanks to their hard-fought 4-3 win over Olympiacos on Wednesday.

The star of the show for Los Blancos, in what was their first win in Greece, was superstar forward Kylian Mbappe, as he scored all of the four goals for his team on the night.

The French attacker had more than able support from the likes of Vinicius Jr. and Arda Guler in Athens, but it was he who stole the show with a four-goal salvo.

Mbappe’s scintillating display, which came after he had not scored in three games in a row, has now earned him the honour of the Champions League Player of the Week.

The 26-year-old megastar beat PSG midfielder Vitinha, Marseille’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy to the prize.

Mbappe, with his brilliance, joined Real Madrid legends Cristiano Ronaldo, Ferenc Puskas, and Alfredo Di Stefano on the list of players to have scored four or more goals in a single game in the European Cup/Champions League.

The CL Player of the Week honour is a nice way to cap it off for the Frenchman, who is now the leading goalscorer in the competition with nine goals to his name.

Overall, Mbappe has racked up 22 goals so far this term and is also the leading scorer in La Liga.
