The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that Jeddah will once again host the Spanish Super Cup, with the competition set to take place between 7 and 11 January 2026.

The tournament will be staged at the King Abdullah Sports City, home to the Alinma Stadium – better known as “The Radiant Jewel” – which has already become a familiar venue for Spanish football.

Barcelona will begin their campaign in the semi-finals against Athletic Club, a fixture that promises intensity but one where the Catalans have history firmly on their side.

On the other side of the draw, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will battle for the second spot in the final.

With their dominant record in this competition and their status as reigning champions, Barça step into this edition with a clear target, which is to defend their crown.

Last season, Barcelona reminded the world why they remain the gold standard in Spanish football.

After easing past Athletic Club in the semi-final with a 2-0 victory, they stormed into the final against Real Madrid. What followed was a statement performance.

Historic final that cemented Barça’s dominance

The 2025 final will be remembered as one of Barcelona’s most decisive victories over their eternal rivals.

Despite Kylian Mbappe’s early goal in the 5th minute, Barça struck back with devastating efficiency.

Lamine Yamal showcased his extraordinary talent, Robert Lewandowski proved his experience in front of goal, Alejandro Balde added his attacking flair, and Raphinha finished with a brace.

By the 48th minute, Barcelona had built a four-goal lead, leaving Los Blancos stunned. Although Rodrygo managed to pull one back, it was far too late.

Barcelona lifted their 15th Supercopa de Espana title with a commanding 5-2 triumph, a result that also set the tone for a treble-winning season under Hansi Flick.
