In an official statement released on March 1, the Comoros Football Federation announced the end of its collaboration with national team coach Stefano Cusin.

The decision takes effect as of March 1, 2026. The federation decided not to renew the contract of Stefano Cusin, whose contract expired at the end of February, as head coach of the Coelacanths. The 57-year-old Italian took the reins in October 2023, succeeding Younes Zerdouk, and spent more than two years on the Comoros bench.

The federation praised "his work and discipline," especially "the impressive run during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers."The statement noted that discussions are underway with several coaches to ensure a smooth succession, and the new head coach will be announced very soon.
