Official | Toulouse sign Strasbourg midfielder Mathis Amougou on loan

Toulouse FC have signed French midfielder Mathis Amougou (20) on loan from Ligue 1 rivals Strasbourg, both clubs have announced. The 20-year-old joined Chelsea from Saint-Etienne 18 months ago in a reported €15m deal. Amougou only featured two times for Chelsea before being sold to BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg for a similar transfer fee last summer.

Amougou then struggled for game time with the Alsatians, with which he’s under contract until 2030. Toulouse enquired about the former Saint-Etienne midfielder and wrapped up his signing on loan. He’ll wear the No. 18 jersey for Le TéFéCé. Toulouse could do with some midfielder reinforcements. Jens Berther ASkou’s side remain winless in Ligue 1 after losing to Lyon and drawing away at Brest. Amougou could make his Toulouse debut at home against Lille on Thursday.
