Officially confirmed: FC Bayern seals its next signing | OneFootball

FC Bayern Munich has already made two major signings for its first team. Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari were signed early in the summer transfer window. Nevertheless, club officials are keeping a close eye on the market. Now the next deal is a done deal. 

Bayern Munich has now announced the signing of the young Czech player Matous Srb. The club had been interested in him for some time and held intensive talks with Slavia Prague.

Part of the record champion’s strategy is to sign young, talented players and develop them. Ideally, this results in a player being integrated into the first team without having cost the club a large transfer fee.

On the other hand, such transfers are also always potential investments, as players can be resold for a profit. It remains to be seen which category Srb will ultimately fall into.

Srb will initially play for the reserve team

Last season, the 16-year-old played for the capital city club’s second team, U20, and U19 squads. He has thus already gained some experience at the senior level.

Several teams from Europe had been courting him, but FC Bayern has now secured his signature.

“We’re delighted to have signed Matouš for FC Bayern. He’s an exciting offensive talent—technically skilled and a strong player—who has already gained experience in men’s soccer with Slavia Prague’s reserve team,” explained Michael Wiesinger, Head of Sports and Youth Development at FCB.

Srb has played for Slavia since 2017, progressing through all of their youth divisions and already making a name for himself on the Czech U17 national team.

At the record-holding champions, the teenager is initially set to play for the amateur team but may begin training with the pros sooner rather than later.
