Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed that Czech striker Tomas Cvancara’s loan arrangement with Antalyaspor has been terminated early. The 25-year-old will be headed back to his Bundesliga outfit after the Turkish club failed to pay him three-and-a-half months worth of wages. Cvancara has officially filed a suit seeking to claim his back-pay. Nothing about the status of Cvancara’s claim at this time.

BMG sporting director Rouven Schröder – speaking to Kicker – confirmed that Cvancara will be returning to the club for the official start of winter training on January 2nd. After that, interestingly enough, Cvancara will be returning to Turkey for Gladbach’s mini-camp in Belek. Gladbach resume Bundesliga play on January 11th with a home fixture against FC Augsburg.

Will Tim Kleindienst’s delayed return give Tomas Cvancara a chance?

Potentially. Glabach and the rest of the Bundesliga field must contest an “Englisher Woche” (“English Week”) in order to officially conclude the first half of the Bundesliga campaign once play resumes. This translates to three league fixtures in six days between January 11th and January 16th. Kleindienst is not expected to make it back until the end of January at the earliest. Gladbach have five Bundesliga matches to play in that time.

I hope that I can be back by the end of January or mid February,” Gladbach skipper Kleindienst explained in a recent interview with the Rheinische Post while attending the World Darts Championship in London. “There are still some minor issues to be resolved.
