OGC Nice announced on Monday that Kevin Carlos has joined Cagliari on a season-long loan that includes an option to buy.

The 25-year-old Spanish striker arrived last summer and is tied to Nice until 2030, but he never secured a place up front.

He failed to score in 23 Ligue 1 appearances, though he did net twice in the Europa League.

His departure further trims Nice’s attacking options. The club have been open about wanting to part with Terem Moffi.

For now, the options include Victor Orakpo, 20, back from a loan at Nancy, and Zoumana Diallo, 21, who made only four appearances last season.
