There is uncertainty at every level at OGC Nice and it could yet have consequences on the retention of some of their most promising talents.
Nice, with five gameweeks remaining in Ligue 1, are fighting to remain in the top-flight. Le Gym are currently four points above AJ Auxerre, who occupy the relegation play-off spot. The two teams must still face each other at Auxerre’s home ground before the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season.
There is uncertainty around the managerial position, the sporting director role, whilst the co-presidents, Maurice Cohen and Jean-Pierre Rivere, could also leave. INEOS have also put the club up for sale. It is no wonder, therefore, that a player who has recently broken into the first team, and has shone despite the difficult context, is considering his future. L’Équipe understands that, despite Nice’s attempts to offer Kail Boudache a first professional deal, he is hesitant. There are several French clubs that have shown an interest in the 19-year-old winger.
There is also doubt regarding the future of Xavier Junior Mandza. The midfielder is considered as perhaps the most promising player currently in Nice’s academy. There are several top European clubs interested in him, whilst Mohamed Toubache-Ter reports interest from RC Strasbourg Alsace.
