There is set to be a change between the sticks at relegated FC Nantes, with one veteran set to replace another, as revealed by Télénantes and confirmed by L’Équipe and Foot Mercato.
It was Anthony Lopes who joined Nantes last summer, following his departure from Olympique Lyonnais. The Portuguese shot-stopper signed a one-year deal, but despite some strong performances, he couldn’t save Les Canaris from dropping down into Ligue 2.
His contract is set to expire and it is not expected to be extended. He will be replaced by another free agent, Maxime Dupé (33). The veteran goalkeeper’s deal at OGC Nice expires at the end of the season. He briefly shook up the hierarchy but has since returned to his role as No.2, behind Yehvann Diouf.
Dupé came through the ranks at Nantes and is now on the verge of a return to his formative club, where he would sign a three-year deal and become the club’s No.1.
