Tara O’Hanlon will spend the first half of the 2025/26 season on loan at WSL 2 side Sunderland.

The full-back moved to City from Peamount United in her native Republic of Ireland during the January 2024 transfer window.

She’d played a key role in their march to the League of Ireland title in 2023, going on to make her senior debut for the Irish national team later that year against the United States.

Injuries have meant that O’Hanlon is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Blues, but she’s enjoyed a successful pre-season under new Head Coach Andrée Jeglertz.

And now, she’s ready to make a mark at Sunderland heading into the 2025/26 campaign, following their seventh place finish in the second tier last season.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Tara the best of luck during her temporary stint at Sunderland.
