Okoli targeted for return to Serie A from Leicester City | OneFootball

Italy international Caleb Okoli has been impressive at Leicester City so far this season, but there are already reports he could return to Serie A in January.

The 24-year-old central defender was a product of the Atalanta youth academy and had loan experiences with SPAL, Cremonese and Frosinone.

He was sold to Leicester City in July 2024 for €14m plus up to a further €2.5m in add-ons.

Potential Italy comeback for Okoli

Okoli was unable to prevent the Foxes from suffering relegation from the Premier League in his first campaign, but has done well so far this term in the English Championship.

He started nine out of 15 competitive matches and has recently been adapted as a right-back, giving him even greater versatility.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, there are several Italian sides eager to bring him back to Serie A in the January transfer window.

AC Milan had already shown an interest over the summer, but did not go further.

It is reported that Okoli believes this would give him a better chance of breaking into the Italy squad, seeing as he was called up six times by previous coach Luciano Spalletti, but never given his senior debut.

The defender was a regular for the Under-21 side with 14 caps and one goal.
