Gary Rowett has confirmed that Abdul Fatawu is in contention to start against Norwich, and says some of his key players could return.

The winger came off the bench to return from injury in the draw with Middlesbrough.

The Leicester manager said: “I think he’d be fit enough to start.”

He added: “We may have a couple of other players back at least on the bench but we’ll see.

“Jamaal [Lascelles] trained today. Jordan James trained today as well. We will be assessing those players and making good, sensible decisions.”

Leicester are currently 22nd and one point adrift from safet, but Rowett insisted that Leicester have what it takes to survive the drop.

“I wouldn’t have taken the job if I didn’t believe that the team didn’t have the qualities to stay up,” he said.

“The only way we win games of football… is if we’re galvanized and all together. I’m not a big believer that the fans have to lift the players. I think the players have to show a performance that allows the fans to get behind.”

Leicester take on Norwich on Saturday afternoon at the King Power Stadium. Kick-off is at 12:30pm.
