OL have Ligue 1's fifth costliest squad in 2026, with €192m in acquisition fees. They trail PSG, Monaco, Strasbourg and Rennes, but sit ahead of Marseille.
According to the CIES Football Observatory, the ranking covers 2026 squad-building transfer fees, including bonuses, across Europe and by country. PSG, eighth in Europe, lead domestically on €915m, followed by Monaco on €300m, Strasbourg on €234m and Rennes on €193m. OL sit just behind that group and have climbed two places from last year’s seventh.
OL are also fifth for gross outlay this year at €78m, while recording a €9m net profit.
Across 2022 to 2026, OL rank fourth for squad-building spend on €431m, well behind PSG on €1.2bn and trailing Marseille and Rennes. The club, which has been drastically cutting its wage bill since last year, shows a cumulative €122m positive net balance.
Lille top the four-year balance column with a €362m surplus, boosted in part by major sales of Bouaddi and Fernandez Pardo in summer 2026.
