Oliver Glasner faces a growing injury list before Crystal Palace’s meeting with Manchester City this weekend, with only 15 senior players in Ireland for tonight’s Conference League tie at Shelbourne. Daniel Munoz, Jean-Philipe Mateta, Jaydee Canvot and Ismaila Sarr have remained in London.

According to The Standard, Munoz, who missed last weekend’s 2-1 win over Fulham with a knee problem, requires surgery and is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks. Glasner added the 29-year-old’s recovery would be managed cautiously and the issue does not appear serious.

Canvot is ill and was sent home, so he will not feature against Shelbourne. Glasner noted the French defender could offer cover at right-back in Munoz’s absence, although it is not his preferred role.

Palace are also taking a precaution with Mateta, who returned from the international break with a knee issue and has experienced swelling. He stayed at home and the plan is for him to train on Friday, before a late assessment for City.

Sarr, Palace’s leading scorer in all competitions, has missed the last two matches after ankle ligament damage against Manchester United. Glasner said there is a small chance he could face City, and he expects the 27-year-old to travel to the Africa Cup of Nations so Senegal can assess him.
