Oliver Sorensen turns to Celtic Invincible for advice after completing Hoops move | OneFootball

New Celtic signing Oliver Sorensen has revealed he spoke to former Hoops defender Erik Sviatchenko before sealing his move to Glasgow.

The 24-year-old midfielder has joined Celtic from Parma on a season-long loan, with the Scottish champions holding an option to make the deal permanent.

Sorensen’s arrival provides Martin O’Neill with some much-needed midfield depth following the recent departures of Reo Hatate and Arne Engels.

The Denmark midfielder only moved to Parma last summer after leaving Midtjylland, where he previously played alongside former Celtic centre-back Sviatchenko.

Sviatchenko spent two-and-a-half years at Parkhead and became a popular figure among supporters, winning five major honours during his time at the Hoops.

And Sorensen sought some advice from his former teammate before making the switch to Celtic.

“I spoke to him and was messaging a bit and he congratulated me for this move and wished me good luck,” he told Celtic TV.

“I should call him in a few days to get all the good places to go and eat and all this stuff!”
