It hasn't been smooth sailing for Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins this season.

The England striker reached double figures in each of his previous five seasons after joining the Villans from Brentford in the 2020/21 campaign.

However, the 2025/26 season has been more challenging for Villa's number nine.

Before the Brighton game on Wednesday, Watkins had scored just one Premier League goal during this campaign.

The 29-year-old hadn't scored in 12 games before the trip to the Amex, but he ended that barren spell with a real poacher's finish in the first half.
