Barcelona’s latest injury blow is that of Dani Olmo, for the team’s attacking midfielder suffered an injury while training with the Spanish national team during the ongoing international break.
The player was poised to have an important role for La Roja, especially given the team’s injuries in attack, but eventually fell prey to injury even before playing a minute for Luis de la Fuente’s men.
Needless to say, this comes as a massive blow for not only the Spanish national team but also for Barcelona, who have some big clashes awaiting them after the international break.
As relayed by SPORT in a recent report, Olmo returned to Catalonia after his injury earlier today and will undergo tests at the club’s medical facility soon to determine the extent of his injury and the duration of his setback.
The initial signs point to Olmo being ruled out for anywhere between three and four weeks, leaving his participation in some of the biggest games of the coming month in doubt. That includes El Clasico, which is scheduled to take place on the 26th of October.

Upon his arrival in Barcelona, the player was even asked directly if he could be back in time to play against Real Madrid in the all-important Clasico, and his response was lukewarm, leaving the doors open to his absence on the night.
“I don’t know,” he said plainly, suggesting that it is complicated for him to feature against Xabi Alonso’s men.
Olmo’s situation, needless to say, rules him out of Barcelona’s games against Girona and Olympiacos in addition to placing him in doubt to feature against Real Madrid.
Should he indeed be out for more than three weeks, he will likely make it back in time for the team’s clash against Celta Vigo just before the next international break.
Olmo’s injury only adds to Hansi Flick’s already long list of issues this season and deepens the team’s troubles in the attacking midfield, where Fermin Lopez has already been injured for a while now.
Luckily for the manager, the La Masia graduate is set to return in the coming weeks and can fill in after Olmo’s setback.
