Olympique Lyonnais unveil 2026-27 away kit inspired by the canuts

Olympique Lyonnais have unveiled their 2026-27 away kit, a design paying tribute to the city’s silk-working canuts. The canuts were 19th-century silk workers based largely in Lyon’s Croix-Rousse district.

The club said the shirt carries a subtle tone-on-tone silk motif, refined finishes that evoke the fluidity and sheen of Lyonnais fabrics, and a colour inspired by historic magenta pigments.

Inside the collar sits the message, "Pour les canuts".

Lyon presented the kit on Tuesday in an advertising campaign featuring Endrick, Tyler Morton, Corentin Tolisso and Khalis Merah. Tolisso and Merah are academy graduates.

The launch comes as Lyon, fourth in Ligue 1, chase Champions League qualification, with Lens visiting on Sunday at 21:00.
