OM plan sales to ease finances and lighten Frank McCourt’s burden, with some deals needed before 30 June. According to L'Équipe, the absence of the Champions League in 2026-27 and heavy deficits mean a summer reset.
Loan returns and possible terminations should trim wages. New sporting director Grégory Lorenzi will make the calls, with Facundo Medina and Nayef Aguerd likely to be kept. The prime assets are Mason Greenwood, Igor Paixao, Leonardo Balerdi, Quinten Timber, Amine Gouiri, Timothy Weah and Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg.
Greenwood, 24 and under contract to 2029, has said he wants to stay. He has interest in Italy, Spain, Germany and Türkiye, but remains persona non grata in the Premier League. Estimates sit between €40m and €50m, while OM would prefer between €70m and €80m, and Manchester United retain 40% of his rights.
Paixao, 25 to 2030, is valued at €25m to €30m after a €35m transfer. Balerdi, 27 to 2028, is seen at €20m to €25m and has signalled a wish to leave. Timber, signed for €4.5m, is now near €20m and open to the Premier League. Gouiri, 26 to 2029, is also around €20m after an uneven year.
Höjbjerg, 30, was close to leaving in January after his agent tested Italy, and interest from Türkiye could bring in more than €10m. Weah, 26 to 2030, kept his future vague, and although his Juventus loan was due to become permanent, a move between €15m and €20m could now let OM recoup costs.
