‘On His Agenda’ – Boss Admires Wolves Star, Eyes Swoop | OneFootball

New Ajax boss Michel is a keen admirer of Wolves defender Santiago Bueno and has him ‘on his agenda’ for the Dutch giants in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Bueno has been on the books at Wolves since 2023 and has clocked regular game time at Molineux.

Though he was linked with a possible exit in 2024, Bueno stayed put and went on to make 85 appearances for the club before his side got relegated from the top flight last season.

Wolves are now preparing for a season in the Championship, but Bueno could have a potential escape route.

Bueno’s former manager at Girona, who is currently the man-in-charge at Ajax, ‘has him on his agenda’, according to Spanish programme El Chiringuito.

After a disappointing campaign both domestically as well as in Europe, Ajax are looking to reshape their squad under the former Girona boss and his former player is on his agenda.

Michel knows Bueno well and rates what he could bring to the table for Ajax this season.

Wolves have taken decisive steps in keeping the depth of their defence by so far keeping hold of Ladislav Krejci.

Clubs have been showing interest in the Wolves player, with the Molineux-based club rejecting a bid from Spanish side Real Sociedad recently.

They could also lose full-back Jackson Tchatchoua in the final weeks, given interest from Serie A pair Torino and Sassuolo.

It remains to be seen what happens with Bueno, but if he goes then Wolves will surely want to replace him.

They have kept an eye on one of Cesar Peixoto’s former charges, Marvin Elimbi, and a move could take place if Bueno departs for Ajax.
