A member of the loan army at La Liga giants Barcelona on Saturday kept alive what has been a productive individual campaign to date.
The player in question? Ansu Fati.
Wide-man Ansu of course departed Barcelona last summer, after being made aware that he did not feature in the plans of Blaugana boss Hansi Flick.
The Spanish international put pen to paper on terms with Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco through the summer of 2026.
And his time in France, though blighted by fitness problems, has for the most part proven to be successful.
On Saturday, Ansu was introduced off the bench, as Monaco made the trip to Metz for a league clash.
And with proceedings rolling into injury time, the 23-year-old proved himself the game’s decisive figure.
Latching onto a low delivery from the left, Ansu did superbly to take the ball under control, before slotting home the winning goal in a 2-1 Monaco triumph.
This took his tally for the season to 10 Ligue 1 goals, and 11 in all competitions.
A permanent summer transfer to the Stade Louis II is in turn beginning to look increasingly likely for Ansu.
