Forward Bruno Duarte is facing the perfect scenario to begin his journey in a Vasco shirt. Registered and available to the coaching staff, the 30-year-old striker has the chance to make his debut in the derby against Fluminense this Saturday in the Brazilian Championship. The new signing carries the responsibility of addressing the team’s lack of firepower and trying to recreate the immediate impact of penalty-box forwards who made their mark right in their Vasco debut.

Vasco supporters fondly remember strikers who changed the club’s course as soon as they arrived. His recent record proves his consistency in the box, with standout spells at Vitória de Guimarães, where he scored 23 goals, and Farense, with 14 goals. At his last club, traditional powerhouse Red Star, the No. 9 reached his offensive peak by scoring 42 goals and providing 14 assists in 98 matches, credentials that have excited Vasco fans.
