With their return to the 1:1 status, the chances of FC Barcelona landing their desired targets from the market have increased significantly, and the Catalans are looking to take advantage of this changed situation in this very month.

The attacking line is the area that the Blaugranes want to reinforce with the highest priority at this point in time, and they are looking for a new player for the left wing to be more precise.

For this purpose, they have been linked with several players in the last few months, but in the last few days, their links with the Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford have been particularly strong.

In this regard, there have been some positive developments taking place recently, as SPORT reports that Barcelona have already reached an agreement with the Englishman to join their team on loan till the end of this season.

However, the Catalans will still have to overcome one barrier before being able to finalize this deal, i.e., getting enough space in their wage bill to incorporate Rashford’s salary.

The player himself is also clear that he wants to play in the Blaugrana colours, and will wait till the end of the winter window for Barcelona to make their required moves to land him.

Currently, the English star is earning around €18 million gross annually, and as they would be signing him for half a season, the Catalan club will have to take on half of this amount in wages, i.e., €9 million.

However, their cost can be even lower if they arrive at an agreement with Manchester United to assume some part of his salary, which is not entirely unlikely as the Red Devils are also keen to part ways with the €55 million-rated player who is not quite high in Ruben Amorim’s plans but has one of the highest wages in the team.

But to make a place for him in their wage bill, Barcelona’s most likely choice remains Eric Garcia’s move to Girona, with the latter looking to offer around €7 million fixed and another €3 million in variables.

This added to the half of the €6 million that the Blaugranes will save from his salary, will add up to make €10 million, which is enough to land Rashford. Barcelona have time till 3rd February to complete these operations.
