Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri will be forced to make two compulsory changes to his starting lineup against Torino, while the rest of the team should remain intact.
The Aquile have been navigating with a decimated midfield department. But even in the absence of five first-team midfielders, they managed to return to Rome with a 3-0 win from Genoa on Monday. Sarri was forced to drop his 4-3-3 formation in favor of a 4-2-3-1 system, as Danilo Cataldi and Toma Basic were the only available options in the middle of the park.

While Nicolo Rovella, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Matias Vecino are still on the sidelines, Lazio will at least be able to count on Reda Belahyane, who returns to the fold after serving a one-match ban, unlike Matteo Guendouz,i who remains suspended. However, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the young Moroccan’s return is unlikely to make a significant difference.
The Roman newspaper rules out an immediate return to 4-3-3, so Belahyane will only serve as a backup option for Basic and Cataldi, as the unlikely duo managed to convince Sarri in Liguria. The former outcasts will operate behind Matteo Cancellieri, Boulaye Dia and Mattia Zaccagni, who will act as the supporting cast for Taty Castellanos.
Nevertheless, Sarri will be forced to ring the changes at the back due to Adam Marusic and Luca Pellegrini’s injuries. The two full-backs have been ruled out for the clash against Torino, and it remains to be seen if they’ll be available after the international break. As for Manuel Lazzari, he will try to earn a call-up, but he surely won’t be fit enough to start.
Therefore, Nuno Tavares and Elseid Hysaj are the only remaining options for the two full-back slots, so they’ll be flanking Alessio Romagnoli and Mario Gila, while Ivan Provedel maintains his place between the sticks.
Lazio Probable XI (4-2-3-1): Provedel; Hysaj, Gila, Romagnoli, Gila, Tavares; Basic, Cataldi; Cancellieri, Dia, Zaccagni; Castellanos.
