Oosterwolde-Roma still a possibility for January | OneFootball

Oosterwolde is holding out hope for a move to Roma. And so are the Giallorossi fans.

Missing from the Istanbul clash between Fenerbahçe and the Roman club, the Dutch defender currently playing for the Bosporus club was a step away from joining Roma in the last transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

His move was blocked by a tendon problem discovered during his medical, which clashed with the Turkish version of events, which claimed it was a hamstring injury. Thus, the transfer stalled at the last minute, although it could become a reality in January.

“I hope so,” Oostwerwolde replied when asked about a possible resurgence of Roma’s interest in him. Perhaps as early as the next January transfer window. His words are also supported by certain certainties.

It’s no secret that both Gasperini and D’Amico are drawn to Oosterwolde.

In August, Roma signed Oostwerwolde for €1 million, with a buyout option of €16 million subject to certain conditions being met. This could be a rekindled negotiation soon, perhaps as early as January.
