Opta’s updated projection has delivered a tight new call for Leeds United in the survival fight.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds arrived at Saturday’s trip to title-favourites Arsenal fifth-bottom, six points ahead of West Ham and one above Nottingham Forest. Daniel Farke’s side lost 4-0, only their second league defeat in the last 11 games.
West Ham seemed set for a major boost at Chelsea, 2-0 up at half-time, but the Blues hit back to win 3-2.
Forest then drew 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace, leaving both clubs level with Leeds on 26 points, Forest behind on goals scored. Leeds and Forest are six points clear of West Ham.
Above them, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are both three points ahead, with Spurs salvaging a point in a 2-2 home draw against Manchester City, who had led 2-0 at the break.
With only Sunderland versus Burnley to come on Monday in Game Week 24, Opta have issued a fresh predicted final table and points that brings a Leeds change from the current standings and a tight call.
Arsenal are forecast as champions on 82 points, up from 81. Manchester City are second, up from third, with 71 points, down from 72. Aston Villa third, down from second, on 71. Liverpool fourth, up from fifth, on 63. Chelsea fifth, down from fourth, on 63. Manchester United sixth on 62, up from 60.
