The club said on Thursday that Oscar Mingueza has signed a deal to 2030, becoming Pierre Sage’s first signing at Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old left Celta Vigo at the end of his contract and arrives as a free agent. He is set to experience the Premier League for the first time under Sage.

A La Masia graduate, the Spain international has four caps. He spent four seasons in Galicia, playing 147 matches with seven goals and 15 assists.

Able to operate at right-back or in central defence, Mingueza adds depth to a department that already includes Daniel Munoz on the right.

Palace, who have qualified for next season’s Europa League, continue their summer rebuild after Oliver Glasner’s departure, with Sage now in charge.
