Osmar Stabile has backed giving Fiel Torcedor members a say in Corinthians presidential elections, while arguing their ballots could carry different weight. His comments came as debate on statute reform was halted at Parque São Jorge.

According to Meu Timao, a vote among councillors on statute changes was abandoned on Monday after a disagreement between the club president and Deliberative Council chief Romeu Tuma Júnior. The proposals will now go to the General Assembly.

Stabile said he has long supported the idea, but wants a clear pathway rather than an overnight switch. He suggested Fiel Torcedor should be able to back the Corinthians president, with a system that assigns specific weight to their votes.

He added that he has not seen opposition inside the club and that it is not for the president to interfere. His role, he said, is to follow the current Statute and, if it changes, to comply.

Option one would grant voting rights for president and vice-president to Fiel Torcedor members who have kept their plan current for four years, with an extra fee equal to one quarter of the monthly individual membership contribution, currently R$ 60.25.

Option two mirrors the first but would apply already in this year's elections to members who have been up to date for the past four years, with no fee.

Option three keeps the current Statute, under which Fiel Torcedor members have no vote. With Monday's session curtailed, club members will decide at a General Assembly, which had been expected in April, though no date is confirmed.
