Osmar Stabile has blocked a string of late-stage Corinthians deals, with André’s proposed move to Milan the latest to be vetoed. Talks for Alisson of São Paulo and Kayky of Bahia were also halted.

According to Globo.com, executive Marcelo Paz leads negotiations, yet the president grants or withholds final approval, weighing finances as well as internal pressure and potential backlash. He is kept abreast of ins and outs throughout, but retains the last word.

Stabile has resisted appointing a statutory football director, saying he heads the department alongside the executive. Behind the scenes, Paz maintains there is no disconnect with the president despite recent U-turns.

Alisson even visited CT Joaquim Grava and a loan until the end of this year was set, pending only the transfer payment, before Stabile reversed course. The club had R$ 1 million available for the loan, but other terms counted against it and the finance team said there was no budget provision.

The Kayky loan, considered all but done, was dropped after Stabile argued it would be hypocritical to deal with Bahia while accusing the club of approaching Kauê Furquim.

For André, meetings were held, values agreed, the green light given and emails and draft contracts exchanged, to the point the player’s camp believed it was done. Stabile declined to sign, saying he disliked the 17 million euro offer for 70% of the 19-year-old’s rights, worth about R$ 103 million.

A mix of negative reaction and cost also cooled a move for Rony, now at Santos and then at Atlético-MG, with the club stressing internally he was only a monitored name. Stabile also played a decisive part in signing Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad, who reached the radar via a tip from Dutch forward Memphis Depay.
